Maa Nisha Kabir
She left home at fourteen with two questions: who am I, and why do we suffer?
Her first guru was Santa Kabir Das, and she went on to learn from other teachers and traditions. She practised Vipassana for six years, then lived for two years in a cave in Mustang, above the treeline.
In 2021 she rented a room in Kathmandu and began teaching people one at a time. That was the start of Jivan Parivartan, which means “life transformation”. On day four of the retreat, she takes the group to the cave where she did her own practice.

“I never went looking for a centre. I went looking for an answer. The centre is only what happened when other people wanted to sit down beside me and ask the same question.”
